Automation and Infrastructure Engineer - OSS Tooling (Hybrid)

Your Role and Responsibilities:
As an an Automation and Infrastructure Engineer, you will contribute to the platform and the infrastructure for our software and hardware products. You will work on a team to support Open source Software R&D, Cloud Infrastructure and Developer Enablement. The Tools Team’s primary goal is to help accelerate the Internal Team’s timelines to build the first commercially viable universal quantum computer and the most popular software ecosystem around it. As a result, you will completely reshape the nature of computation as we know it. You will:
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Use Terraform or similar tools to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources, implementing best practices in IaC
- Implement cloud and/or on-premise infrastructure to support open source software development (in collaboration with internal IT team).
- Work closely with Open source Engineers to design and implement solutions to enable quantum hardware software.
- Ensure high-quality production code by maintaining automated test coverage and a dynamic code review process.
At Xanadu, we primarily work with Python, Postgres, Docker, Terraform, CI pipelines(Github Actions), and multiple cloud platforms. Proficiency in at least a subset of these technologies is essential.
Basic qualifications and experience:
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
- 2+ years of software development experience.
- Some knowledge of Python.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines(any kind).
- Experience with any major cloud providers: AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Product-minded approach to software development.
- Self-driven to deliver high-quality solutions to your stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with Github Actions.
- Experience with Terraform.
- In-depth knowledge of different software development methods such as Test Driven Development, Unit Testing, Agile, etc
- Experience with multiple data storage technologies.
