Your Role and Responsibilities:

Xanadu is an industry leader in the burgeoning area of quantum software. As a Junior Data Scientist working within our Quantum Software organization, you will be responsible for leveraging data to inform our Product, Business Development, Software Engineering, and Research teams on product performance and to generate insights to direct their development. This will involve identifying new data sources which can be used to answer questions about our products and users, as well as gathering/scraping data; writing scripts to hit data endpoints, maintaining and enhancing our data pipelines, and analyzing this data using statistical and machine learning algorithms to generate actionable insights.

  • Ingesting, transforming, storing, and modeling data from diverse internal and external sources.
  • Creating interactive data visualizations informing the performance of our products and software.
  • Analyzing data for actionable insights and to inform decision making.
  • Gathering requirements and working closely with various stakeholders, ensuring that insights align with business goals.
  • Generating periodic reports for Stakeholders across the Software organization.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a start-up or software development-focused enterprise in an analytics role, generating insights and performing data ETL.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics, statistical analysis, SQL, and a working knowledge of Python and cloud computing.
  • Rich experience in large scale data wrangling from (un)structured sources.
  • Adept at working with Linux shell, Git, and GitHub.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm about new and unfamiliar technologies with ability to learn technical/scientific concepts quickly with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in and with cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of physics and quantum computing.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI.
  • Knowledge of the full lifecycle of software development, including version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, logging, profiling, debugging, and documentation.
  • Experience with Apache Superset, Airbyte, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Postgres, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
