System Administrator

Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a System administrator at Xanadu, you will be inserted in the IT team working across the company to support infrastructure operations, security, and implement new systems. The role will mostly focus on managing Xanadu’s on-premises and cloud infrastructure and supporting the research teams with their IT needs. Some of the things you will be involved in:

• Manage on-premises and cloud servers(mostly Linux), using ansible, bash and terraform

• Ensure security, backup, and redundancy strategies are applied
• Participate in the design of IT systems
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support 
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
• Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the network and IT systems
• Conduct regular system audits
• Lead and support project-based work

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with Unix/Linux system administration
• 5+ years of experience as system administrator or equivalent
• Experience with one of the major cloud providers, AWS preferred
• Experience in infrastructure administrator and security operations, incident response, vulnerability assessments, and security architecture design
• Experience with bare metal servers
• Proven experience with bash and/or python for scripting
• Experience with DNS and DHCP services in enterprise environments
• Proficient in definition, implementation and deployment of containerized services (Docker and/or Kubernetes or equivalents)
• Experience in architecting IT infrastructure, including both network and endpoints
• Self-motivated and keen to explore new technologies and research the best tool(s) for the job
• Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure/high-paced environment
• Experience working in an agile delivery environment

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience with CI/CD concepts and tooling
• Experience with configuration management tools such as ansible
